Achievement

Goal

Our goal is to follow the waste hierarchy when formulating the environmental measures.

  • To gradually reduce the per capita MSW disposal rate by 40-45%
  • To increase the recovery rate to about 55%

Waste hierarchy

In our modern world, waste management has become an increasingly critical issue. As we strive to protect and preserve our environment, it is essential to adopt sustainable practices that minimize waste generation and maximize resource utilization. One effective framework that guides us in this endeavor is the Waste Hierarchy.

The 6 Steps of Waste Management Hierarchy are:

  1. Prevention: Focus on preventing waste generation by designing durable products, implementing reusable systems, and promoting conscious consumption.
  2. Minimization: Minimize waste through source reduction, such as reducing packaging materials and implementing efficient production processes.
  3. Reuse: Explore opportunities for reusing items through repair, refurbishment, donation centers, and sharing platforms.
  4. Repair: Repair in waste management means fixing damaged items instead of throwing them away, which saves resources, money, and jobs, while also promoting a circular economy by extending their lifespan and reducing waste.
  5. Recycling: Transform waste materials into new products or raw materials to conserve resources, save energy, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
  6. Disposal: As a last resort, dispose of waste in landfills or incinerators, with proper management, treatment, and methane capture to minimize environmental impact.

1.Prevention

Turning cake box into party plates

By turning cake box into party plates, we prevent the usage of signle use paper plates in the Christmas party .

Adopting E-communication

We disseminate electronically. At this year's Asia Eco-expo, we sent on invitations to our customers by email, thus avoiding the need for letterheads and envelopes.

Avoid using single-use cups

Choosing the reusable cup instead can reduce the amount of waste greatly.

2.Minimization

Maximizing Efficiency in A4 Printing for Waste Reduction

Print more information on a page. For example, when using PowerPoint, you can print several slides on a single page. You can also format document using "shrink to fit feature in order to reduce the number of printing pages. You can also consider to print on both sides as far as possible.

3.Reuse

Reviving A4 paper packing

With a touch of creativity, A4 wrapping paper can be transformed into  gift wraps and book wraps.

Reusing cartons

We reuse the cartons for packing and delivery.

Reusing the envelopes

Reusing letters and recycling them appropriately, we reduce waste generation, conserve resources, and promote a more sustainable approach to waste management

4.Repair

5.Recycling

Recycling Station

Our recycling bins collect various types of recyclables namely paper, metals, plastic, batteries, glass bottles, light bulbs/fluorescent tubes, small furniture, cartons, and waste electrical and electronic equipment facilitating waste separation and resource recovery.

6.Disposal

Think before you throw!

Disposal of rubbish should be considered as a last resort and only after all other options have been exhausted. Notices have been placed on rubbish bins to remind staff to reconsider using the recycling bins before disposing of rubbish
